My name is Sankalp Shangari. I spend first half of my career in banking with some of largest European and American banks and the last decade navigating minefields in crypto.
This is my attempt not just to keep checks and balances on my trading, but in the process share all my knowledge and wisdom gained in macro and crypto in the last 10 years. Hope I can make a positive dent in your lives.
Each week, I intend to share a new trade idea from conception to execution, along with my mental models, my convictions, strategy, macro and crypto narratives, along with strategy, tools and risk management. One trade every week to keep me grounded with highest conviction. Fifty Two trades in Fifty Two weeks, mostly crypto, but sometimes we might have a better opportunity.
I will continue to update this page as we go. Perfection never comes in life and I don't intend to chase that. But here is a basic mental model I’m going to follow:
Current Macro Narratives - Everything begins with understanding where are we in the cycle. FED, DXY, economic data, EUR, YEN, yields etc
Macro vs Risk Assets - How does macro shape risk assets - stocks, crypto etc
BTC & Majors - What does it look like for BTC, ETH, SOL - flows, OI, vols, narratives vs other majors etc
Altcoin Betas & Narratives - Middle of the curve and what looks best with conviction each week
Shitcoins, memecoins, Lala Land - sometimes the riskiest assets can give max returns (key word being sometimes)
While I cover a lot of this every week in my macro and crypto newsletter, this newsletter will be focussed on fundamentals, technicals, sizing, positioning and other tools from time to time. I will also try to cover a lot on risk management - what can go wrong vs what you expect to go right. How to maximise with stop loss, take profit, sizing, worst case scenarios, why this trade might not work and a post mortem of our existing and closed portfolios and more importantly what are we learning as we are going. Positive criticism is welcome.
I am going to keep the trades transparent and share them all live as we go so that anyone can track them anytime.
